I specialise in news and current affairs, whether its on the day or pre film you can depend on me to be there and deliver. I have been at many of the UK’s biggest stories of the last 20 years and well-attuned to handling broadcast pressures and deadlines.
With extensive knowledge of industry-standard systems, I regularly integrate into major broadcaster’s operations for both filming and editing. I also carry a Live U with additional IFB dial in system and small vision mixer.
My rates for Electronic News Gathering, Portable Single Camera and multi crews are competitive and flexible and I come with an extensive skill set with kit to match.
I offer Live U and outside broadcast services. From breaking news stories to worldwide promotions I have the knowledge and experience to cater for any event. I also have the kit to add that extra level of production value, track and dolly, multi camera switcher, steadicam and even a small jib.
I am a Live U super user and helped develop the 3G live systems when they were first introduced to the UK, I was tasked with trialing the system and giving critical feedback on how to improve the system and it has improved substantially with the 4G systems being introduced. I own a LU300 and LU200.
London 2012 Olympics, Kate and William’s wedding, Harry and Meghans wedding, Presidents Trumps and President Bidens first UK Visit and the Duke of Edinburgh funeral are just a few of the large scale events I have covered for major broadcasters both domestic and international.
I work out of an all-terrain edit vehicle and operates with high-performance lighting, audio equipment and industry standard 4K/HD capable cameras and a separate IFB dial in system with a small vision mixer.
With notice, I can cover just about any location at any time.
I am a highly skilled and experienced shoot edit, I have cut thousands of VT’s in my time and never missed a slot! I am exceptionally quick and have a highly advanced multi screen shoot edit system, it is generally employed in my 4x4 but is flight cased so can go anywhere. I regularly work for all the UK major broadcasters.
I am an Apple-trained editor and use the latest Macs with M1 Max Chips, 4K and HD-capable Final Cut Pro desktop and laptop systems along with an ipad pro as a second monitor on location, along with broadcast grade monitors in the suite.
I am an expert with all current and leading-edge techniques, tools and plug-ins and widely experienced with all major broadcasters production requirements, from punchy news packages and features to impactful documentary material.
We can edit in the edit suite or remotely with screen sharing and client log in on Frame IO, where you can upload material to me and remotely review edits, I am a quick editor with super fast turnaround times.
I offer drone, pole cam and cable cam systems and along with my clients have been very pleased with the results. I was flying drones before they became popular and developed my own systems early on in my career, I then took my passion to a commercial level. I have used drones for multiple projects and have various special exemptions to fly in City’s and built up areas. There are places you cant fly so I have developed different systems to replace the drone. I have a stabilised camera mounted on a pole which can be attached to a car or any vehicle and a cable cam with stabilised camera attached to it. These two systems can produce amazing shots and give real flexibility on a shoot.
I have the skills, experience and kit to make great features and long form programmes, from beautifully lit multi camera sit down interviews to on the hoof filming I have the skillset to provide the material you need. I can offer multi camera shoots as well with my remote head systems to give you the extra angles you need.
I have covered literally thousands of events for major broadcasters and commercial clients. I am a Royal Rota cameraman and have covered many high profile Royals visits, I have also covered many visits from Prime Ministers, Presidents, VIPs and international VIPs. My most high pressure job was being World wide pool camera for the leaders of the political parties meeting the Pope in London.
I love the pressure of these events and pride myself on always getting the shot.
War zones, floods, arctic snows, baking deserts or jungle heat – whatever the conditions, I can deliver the high-quality footage you need, when you need it.
Hostile environments aren’t just war zones, being able to recognise a dangerous filming situation is a skill in its self. Predicting potential hazards and problems from the start can save a lot of time when filming.
I Have hostile environment training, catastrophic and ballistic trauma medical training. I have also have training in dynamic risk assessment.
My assignments have included working in Afghanistan for ITV Productions on one of its most ambitious live projects, multiple riots and civil unrest events, live firing exercises with the British Army, countless military exercises, capturing the UK bobsled team in action in Norway, and night parachute jumps with the Red Devils military display team.
